Wind blows out window, causes other damage

High winds experienced Friday, January 7, 2022, shattered a retail window of the old Cardwell store. Now, the empty frame is covered with plywood.

POMEROY–High speed winds caused damage to several businesses and homes in Pomeroy on Friday, January 7, 2022. The old Cardwell store lost a window, and both the Pomeroy Food Bank and The Community Trunk suffered severe water damage from a roof leak. A piece of roofing was found in front of the East Washingtonian office. Small bits of concrete can be found on the sidewalk up and down Main Street.

Other weekend damage occurred to several buildings when the snow and ice melted causing water to leak through roofs into the main areas of businesses such as the Food Bank and the Community Trunk.
