January 27, 2022

POMEROY–The Port of Garfield County commissioners elected their 2022 officers at their meeting on January 18. Ed Crawford was re-elected as President and Larry Scoggin was elected Secretary by Resolution 2022-1. The commissioners also passed Resolution 2022-2, which established their regular meeting schedule for 2022 as the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Port District Office. The date, time, and place of the meetings are unchanged from the 2021 meetings schedule.

In other business, Port Manager Diana Ruchert informed the commissioners of wind damage to the Pataha Creek RV Park. The sign on Highway 12 has been blown away and damage suffered on the fence. Manager Ruchert also informed the board of delays expected for material for the fiber projects, which have pushed the expected construction date of the Northeast Garfield County fiber project to 2023.
