As we enter into this new year and look forward to the possibilities that it brings, we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our Board Chairman, Cindy Wolf, and our Board Secretary, Chris Herres, for their dedication to the Garfield County Hospital District over the last seven years.

Both Cindy and Chris, along with the rest of the Board, have been instrumental in carving a path for the improvement and quality of care we have been striving to achieve. They have seen us through various challenges over the years and remained steadfast in their convictions to move us forward to provide the best care possible for our community. We have been blessed to have them serve on our Board and wish them the very best!

We would like to reflect on the exceptional year that 2021 has been.

Every year we enjoy putting together a Christmas Party for our patients and last year was no exception.

Our annual Christmas Party was held on December 22, 2021, and the staff truly went all out. The residents had a great time and it was such a pleasure to see their smiling faces enjoy the festivities!

With the ever-changing COVID updates, we remain diligent to ensure the safety of our patients and staff including screening, masking, limited visiting, limited in-person meetings, and more. Our staff pulled together in an amazing way to care our patients and as of now, all patients remain clear of COVID-19.

As the number of people scheduling vaccines has declined significantly, we are decreasing the COVID/Flu Vaccine Clinics to once a month on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Garfield County Fairgrounds in the Dick Brown Building.

We have accomplished a number of improvements at the Hospital District as well. The 340B pharmacy program, which is a federal program, has been a significant benefit, allowing us to get medications at discounted rates. We have partnered with Pomeroy Pharmacy for the program and have generated over $100,000 in additional revenue for the Hospital District.

Since entering into a contract with Allevant, this program has provided educational courses developed by the Mayo Clinic to enhance the knowledge and skill of our staff. They are working with us to improving relationships with larger hospitals to gain more referrals and assist with marketing. The goal of Allevant's program is to help us build up our transitional care program which is one of the best sources of income for the district as well as a great service for the community.

We are excited to offer ultrasound services at the. Our sonographer, Rob Maves, has many years of experience and is highly skilled in a variety of exams. We are able to perform all types of ultrasounds including echocardiograms.
