Economic Forum discusses cohesive signage

POMEROY–A Pomeroy Economic Forum proposed a signage project with an estimated fundraising goal set at $25,000 during the quarterly meeting held at the Pataha Flour Mill on February 22.

The forum, sponsored by the Pomeroy Chamber of Commerce, focused on discussing a cohesive sign project. The project proposes 12 signs pointing out attractions and city building assets. Signs would begin in the west by the Pomeroy Cemetery and continue along Main Street to end in the east by the Pataha Flour Mill. Included in the signs are the Municipal Pool, Pomeroy School District, and the Denny Ashby Library.

The project is estimated to cost $21,000 plus tax, permits, and engineering costs. The fundraising goal is $25,000 and the Chamber has raised about half. Funding options discussed include grants and organization partnering. Garfield County Engineer Grant Morgan offered his help with the engineering of the project.
