Joshua Lee Hansen

April 4, 1978–March 7, 2022

Joshua Lee Hansen passed away on March 7, 2022. He was 43 years old.

Josh was born in Deer Park, Wash., to John Lee Hansen and Nida Rae (Demand) Hansen on April 4, 1978, and spent his early years living in western Washington. His family then moved to Pomeroy when he was eight years old.

He had a happy and carefree childhood growing up in Pomeroy, forming many lifelong friendships. Josh was a loyal friend and deeply valued each of these friendships. He and his brother Joey enjoyed camping and attending concerts with their close group of friends, sharing many memorable road trips together in their teenage years.

As a young adult, Josh spent several years living in the Portland area where he worked in the restaurant business. He quickly worked his way up to general manager of a popular franchise and devoted much time and energy to his work. He loved the fast-paced environment and thrived working with people in this industry.

Josh later returned to eastern Washington to be closer to his family and continued working in the restaurant industry for several more years before he had the opportunity to go into business with his father as a gunsmith and gun dealer. Josh obtained his FFL and soon became a regional expert in gunsmithing.

Josh loved to cook gourmet meals for his family and could often be found in the kitchen during family gatherings making sure each dish was 'just right'. He took great joy in sharing new dishes with his loved ones and was a talented cook.

All who knew Josh, knew him to be the life of the party. He had a way of lighting up the room with his boyish charm and playful sense of humor. Whether he was pulling a practical joke, relentlessly teasing his nieces and nephews, or making someone blush, he could always be counted on to elicit reactions and laughter.

Beyond just humor, Josh was a kind and generous son, brother, uncle, and friend. He cherished opportunities to spend time with family and friends, always making those he loved feel special. He was close to both of his parents and went out of his way to provide care and support for his mother, always being a loving and devoted son.

There are no words that can accurately express the fullness of who Josh was but, those who knew him know the energy and life force that he emanated. We are all blessed to have known Josh and share in his energy. He will forever be missed.

Josh is survived by his mother, Nida Hansen; his father, John (Charlotte) Hansen; sister Shawna (John) Schafer, sister Kimberly Dudley, brother Joseph Hansen; nephews, Matthew Stevens, Jeffrey Stevens, and Trevin Schafer, and nieces, Brittany Maples and Zoe Stinson.

Please join Josh's family for a Celebration of Life, for a light meal, laughter, and memories at Pomeroy Spinners Maple Hall on Saturday, April 30 at 2 p.m.
