COLFAX–State-leading pole vaulter Colton Slaybaugh and top Pirate thrower Raelin Borley were named “Athletes of the Meet” at last Saturday’s McDougall Invitational here, Colton Slaybaugh helping the boy’s team to fifth-place, and Borley placing well in the throwing events.

Sidney Bales placed in all four of his events, first as a member of the 4X100 Relay, second in the pole vault and 200, and fourth in the 100.

“That made him one of the rare athletes to do so in a major invite,” commented Coach Adam Van Vogt.

For the Pirate boys, Colton Slaybaugh cleared 14-3 in the pole vault for first and was sixth in the javelin at 123-11.

Borley took second in the shot put at 33-0, third in discus at 96-2 and sixth in javelin in 92-3.
