Today is National Prayer Day

May 5, 2022

POMEROY–National Day of Prayer "Exalt the Lord Who has established us" will be observed in Garfield County at the Oasis Park on Thursday, May 5 at 12 p.m. noon.

All community members are invited to join in this year's prayer theme "Exalt the Lord Who has established us". During the observance, the seven entities that affect life in America: family, education, business, military church, government, art and media, will be prayed upon.

The entire day will be covered in meditation by all local church members participating in the prayer clock. A dedication will be given each half hour for our nation.

This day of observance, was founded in 1952 and designated by the United States Congress, is to ask people to "turn to God in prayer and meditation." It stands as a day that continues the decision-making of the country's founding fathers, which used morals from the Bible when making difficult decisions.
