PSE Representative Anne Walsh, left, honors Emily Boyd December, 2021, Student of the Month

POMEROY–December 2021 Student of the Month Emily Boyd, pictured right, has been stepping outside her box this year and trying new things not only in the classroom, but outside the classroom with FBLA. She has amazed not only me, but herself as well.

Emily is taking two classes with me, and in these classes as well as FBLA, she has been going above and beyond expectations with individual and group work. She has even stepped up to the plate and willingly taken over three group projects to get them done in time when her partners have been gone or out sick. She comes to class in good spirits and ready to work. Emily is a pleasure to have in my classes and I have enjoyed watching her grow as a student these past couple of months. Emily Boyd was nominated by Tammy Domras and Anne Walsh, left, is a representative for sponsors Puget Sound Electric.

March 2022 Student of the Month Jillian Herres, left, is organized, willing and dedicated in her pursuit to be a successful Student. She is a strong role model for positive behavior and attitude in the classroom. Quiet and respectful are also words I would use to describe Jillian. She is great at reading situations and knowing what avenue of leadership is needed.

Jillian has shown adaptability, specifically when a long-term sub, Anne Gingerich covered her class twice in one year. She demonstrated the willingness and ability to adjust to another teaching style without complaint. "I have watched her persevere, grow, and adapt since she was a grade schooler," said Gingerich.

Because Jillian is a fantastic student and genuine person, she is good candidate for Student of the Month.

Jillian Herres was nominated by Anne Gingerich and sponsored by Garfield County Hospital, representative pictured on the right.

POMEROY–April 2022 Student of the Month Trace Roberts, left, is responsible and cooperative in class. He works well with any team in which he is placed and facilitates discussion within the team. He truly tries to understand concepts, asking for help and clarification when necessary. He follows directions and applies learned concepts to problem solve. Trace makes up all assignments missed due to absences in a timely manner. His attitude in class and willingness to try new things, work hard to problem solve, and share his ideas with classmates is greatly appreciated. Trace is a pleasure to have in class. Trace Roberts was nominated by Nettie Severs and sponsored by Obenland and Low, Adam Hodges.

POMEROY–February 2022 Student of the Month Christian Zaval, right, has a great attitude every day. He tries very hard in school and is an all-around great person. He is polite to students and staff, funny and easy to talk to. He is kind, engages in conversation and always asks if everyone is having a great day. He shows a lot of support for sports and attends sporting events and inquires how things went when he is unable to attend. Christian Zaval was nominated by the Senior Class and Mrs. Wolf and is sponsored by the Bank of Eastern Washington. Representative unnamed, left.

POMEROY–May 2022 Student of the Month Adriana McGatha, pictured left, has demonstrated Independence by helping without being asked, such is the time when she helped her teacher Mrs. Bye with attendance, lunch count and dress up count. She also is willing to run errands, participate when needed, and read the bulletin to the class. She does this with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. Adriana cares about her grades and quality of her work, quizzes and tests, which has placed her at the top of her class all quarter. Adrian McGatha was nominated by Mrs. Bye and is sponsored by Meyers Hardware, Tom Meyers.
