B.C. man injured in mishap at Alpowa

POMEROY–A 65-year-old Agassiz, B.C., man was injured and transported to a Lewiston hospital following an accident at the Alpowa Summit Saturday, July 9.
Lorne J. Knechtel was west bound on State Route 12 when he lost control of the 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was riding at 5:48 p.m., according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Kevin B. Highfield. The vehicle left the roadway to the right.
Knechtel was charged with improper lane usage, according to the WSP report. He was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
