Hospital District joins Recovery Navigator Program

August 11, 2022

POMEROY–The Garfield County Hospital District board of commissioners agreed to a memorandum of understanding regarding the Recovery Navigator Program and discussed the status of the hospital swing bed placement policy at their meeting on August 1.

The Recovery Navigator Program is a multi-entity agreement to provide care for community members in Garfield and Asotin counties. Designated workers will take the services required to the people in need. The Hospital board agreed to join the Garfield County part of the program.

The swing bed placement protocol has been re-examined. At the current time, it will remain as it has been for several months. New patients seeking permanent swing beds will require a three-midnight acute care for admittance. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis. The protocol will remain until further clarification is received from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
