Pirate Jacob Reisinger (11) tries to rip the ball away from Garfield-Palouse's Milo Kunnap (49) as Pirate Sidney Bales (10) moves in to assist. Reisinger made 3½ tackles, three solo and one assist, plus made two of Pomeroy's four interceptions.

POMEROY––While the Pirate offense ground out 452 yards of total offense, the defense crushed Garfield-Palouse's running game in the 72-0 Homecoming win here last week, the fourth consecutive shut-out win for Pomeroy and the fifth this season.

Pomeroy is now 6-1 overall, 4-1 in 1B Southeast 8-Man Football, behind second-place DeSales at 5-0 and 7-0 Liberty Christian, the Pirates' opponents on LC's home turf at Southridge H.S. this Friday.

"I was pleased with our defensive play," said Head Coach Kyle Kimball. "We intercepted the Vikings four times and had a tremendous goal-line stand when they had first and goal from the one-yard line."

The Pirates kept everything on the ground this week, rushing for 452 yards on 30 carries for a 15.1 yards-per-carry average. No passes were attempted.

Early in the second quarter, the Buccaneer offense, with Sidney Bales's 57-yard scoring scamper, added up 40 points to start the running clock.

Quarterback Trevin Kimble had eight carries for 81 yards and one touchdown, scoring a couple of point-afters to account for 26 of the team's total. His other touchdown was a pick-six.

Braedon Fruh counted two touchdowns, packing the mail four times for 95 yards, a 23-8 average, and scoring a pair of touchdowns. Sidney Bales also scored two TDs, averaging 22.3 yards per carry on four carries counting 89 yards.

Less than a minute into the game, Kimble started off the scoring frenzy with a 21-yard touchdown, and two-point conversion. He squelched a Viking drive by snagging a Bryce Pfaff pass and romping into the end zone, again adding the conversion for a 16-0 Pirate lead. Two minutes later, Kimble punched in from the five and Bales tacked on the point after, 24-0.

Bales bounced into the end zone for Pomeroy's fourth and fifth touchdowns, the first from nine yards out and the other a foot race, 57 yards.

Fruh's 42-yard sprint midway through the second period gave Pomeroy a 48-0 lead going into half time.

Kyzer Herres made Pomeroy's only third-quarter touchdown, Brodie Magill adding the two-point conversion, then in the fourth quarter, Fruh had a touchdown run of 37 yards and Magill a 58-yard run to pay dirt.

Gar-Pal's offense made 127 yards through the air, Pfaff completing 14 of 37 attempts, but the 10 rushing attempts totaled minus 17 yards, giving the team 110 yards in total offense.
