Time to fall back

November 3, 2022

POMEROY–It is time to fall back one hour on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 2 a.m.

Do you remember having one less hour of sleep last March 13, 2022, when we moved our clocks forward by one hour?

I do. It made things tough for a week or two while I established a new sleep/wake routine. Oh, what the heck, I wake up at 2:30 a.m. anyway. What’s an hour here or there…?

This fall on November 6, we will retake that hour when we return to standard time. Most people will turn back their clocks by one hour when they go to bed, and habitually awaken to a welcomed extra hour of snooze time.

By turning your clock back in the fall, mornings will be brighter until the shorter days of winter come along, which is good for those of us who take long morning walks. But darkness will come earlier, which means, for some, doing chores by pick-up headlight and that one lone pole light in the barnyard. Ah.... Those were the days.

So, remember to set your clocks back one hour when you go to bed Saturday night November 5; or you do have the option of waiting up until Sunday morning November 6 at 2 a.m. to set your clock back one hour. It’s good to have choices, don’t you think?

Speaking of choices…you have received your ballot in the mail by now, so make your voice heard by voting this election. Mark your decision, then mail or drop your ballot in the local drop boxes by November 8, no later than 8 p.m. Every single vote matters, and every vote counts.
