SUNNYSIDE–Trailing 16-8 after the first quarter, Pirate senior quarterback Trevin Kimble rushed for the first two second-quarter touchdowns to tie then pull the Buccaneers ahead 24-16, and the team never trailed again, going on to win 62-48 here Friday, Oct. 28.

The Pirates next face St. John/Endicott-LaCrosse at home this Friday night for another showdown and where a win will solidify Pomeroy's third-place standing an a berth in the state tournament.

"We played really well in all three phases of the game and guys really stepped up and played well when we needed them to," said Head Coach Kyle Kimball. "Brodie Magill and Jacob Reisinger were great on special teams, making some great tackles and pinning SSC deep a few times. Our O-Line was dominant all night and our defense was solid.

"Pomeroy had some critical fourth down stops and Kyzer Herres intercepted Bosma once and returned it for a touchdown," Kimble said. Braedon Fruh led with four solo tackles and four assists. Flynn made three soloes and three assists. Herres and Roberts both made a pair of solo tackles, and Boone Schmidt and Colby Ledgerwood each had a solo tackle.

The Pirates were led by Trevin Kimble's 187 yards rushing and four touchdowns. He also added 115 yards passing and a touchdown throw to Trace Roberts.

Walker Flynn added 122 yards and two touchdowns rushing.

Dash Bosma torched the Pirates for 357 yards passing going 20 for 46 and five touchdowns.
