Port authorizes final draft of 2023 budget

POMEROY-The Port of Garfield County commissioners authorized a final draft of their 2023 budget and set a date for adoption at their meeting on November 1.

The final budget allows for $4,719,153.50 expenses and $4,703,534 in revenue, including both the Pataha and Northeast Garfield County fiber internet projects. The budget is scheduled for adoption on November 29, at 12 p.m. (noon) at the Port office.

In further business, Port Manager Diana Ruchert said that she received an insurance claim check for taking down Warehouse Three. The check is for $44,557.11, and the building will remain closed and posted until demolition.

The Northeast Garfield County project has gone out to bid for design and Manager Ruchert has received several notices of interest.
