The Pirates travel to Wellpinit Saturday for a 1 p.m. kick off against Wellpinit in game number two of the 1B State Football bracket. In last Friday's wind-swept 50-6 victory over SJEL, Pirate quarterback Trevin Kimble (43) scored four touchdowns and threw one touchdown pass to Trace Roberts to help the Pirates into the playoffs. Kimble rushed for 324 yards and passed for 34 yards.

POMEROY––It was a dark and stormy night at Lybecker Field, and the Pomeroy Pirates defeated the St. John/Endicott-LaCrosse Eagles 50-6, securing a berth in the 1B 8-Man Football State Tournament.

Pomeroy visits Wellpinit this Saturday, November 12, for a 1 p.m. kick off. With a win, the number 10 seeded Pirates would face number two seed Neah Bay. All games from this point are loser-out.

"This was a great team win to help guarantee a spot in the state playoffs this season," said Head Coach Kyle Kimble. "In one of the rainiest and windiest games that I can remember, we still were able to rack up 50 points and 441 yards of offense."

The Pirate defense played really well, Kimble said, holding the Eagles to just 39 yards of total offense. "The defensive line of Trace Roberts, Colby Ledgerwood, David Tejero and Boone Schmidt did a great job of attacking the run all night and putting pressure on their offensive line during pass plays," Kimble added.

Trevin Kimble led the Pirates with 324 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 28 carries and added another touchdown with a four-yard pass to Trace Roberts.

Before the game, seniors honored were Sidney Bales, Braedon Fruh, Trevin Kimble, Brodie Magill, Jayden Slusser and Trevin Walton, who played their last regular season home game for the Pirates.

Sidney Bales struck first with a seven-yard touchdown scamper in the first minute and a half, giving Pomeroy a 6-0 lead.

Kimble broke away for his first touchdown, a 40-yard run and tacked on the point-after for a 14-0 lead. Five minutes later, he repeated the play, running in from the 40 and scoring the extra points for a 22-0 lead

The second quarter was well under way when Kimble took the ball across the goal line from the five at the 9:00 mark, Jacob Reisinger punched in the PAT.

Both teams battled the wind and rain through the next several minutes of the half before Kimble completed the touchdown pass to Roberts from the four. Walker Flynn scored the extra points and Pomeroy was on the verge of the running clock at 38-0.

But the Eagles managed to put together a drive, scoring from the seven on a Landen Miller run. The conversion failed and both teams duked it out for the next seven scoreless minutes.

In the fourth, Kimble found a hole and scored from the 11 to make the score 44-6 and Braedon Fruh broke a 62-yard sprintathon for Pomeroy's final touchdown of the night
