The JH Boys Varsity team won the early season rematch versus Tekoa-Rosalia 49-20. This game was a bit closer than the first matchup, but a lot cleaner. The Timberwolves were outmatched, and we did an outstanding job of keeping control of the ball and working on our offensive sets.

Braxton McKeirnan was hot with 23 points. Kole Zimmerman, Tyler Dixon and Robby Van Vogt each scored 6. Playing for the Varsity squad was Dixon 6, Rory McKeirnan 1, Nolan Newberg, Braxton McKeirnan 23, Cayle Mullins 2, Vinny Vecchio 2, Conrad Nelson 3, Van Vogt 6, Sam Wolf, and Zimmerman 6.

Pomeroy traveled to Colton and played a young Wildcat team Nov. 22. Pomeroy's press allowed an early lead, but then their zone defense caused the Pirates problems. This was the first time we have seen zone this season and it slowed our momentum. We led 26-9 at the half, and came out aggressive offensively in the third quarter to put the game away for a final score of 48-17

"It was good to get some exposure to zone defense and the boys adjusted fine, Coach Brock Ledgerwood said.

Braxton McKeirnan led in scoring with 20 and Robby Van Vogt and Nolan Newberg both added 8. Playing against Colton was Dixon 2, R. McKeirnan, Newberg 8, B. McKeirnan 20, Mullins, Vecchio 2, Nelson 5, Van Vogt 8, S. Wolf, and Zimmerman 3.

It is always tough to come off a long Thanksgiving break and come back to play a tough team with no practices beforehand, Ledgerwood said. Colfax visited on Nov. 22 and jumped to a 22-14 lead in the second quarter. "We picked up our efforts defensively and cut the score to 28-22 at the half," he said. "We were never able to overcome our slow start, but held the game within 4-6 points for most of the second half. Credit to our entire team defensively for slowing Lustig, who scored 30 points for the game, in the second half. He is a very good and we did a great job limiting his opportunities down the stretch. That kept us in the game."

McKeirnan again led us in a more balanced attack with 14 points. Conrad Nelson and Vinny Vecchio each had 6. "Although Braxton leads in scoring most of the time," Ledgerwood said, "it is great to see his teammates all chipping in some points. We are starting to pass the ball well and our team-scoring mentality is making us better."

Playing against Colfax was Dixon 1, R. McKeirnan 4, Newberg 4, Mullins, B. McKeirnan 14, Vecchio, Nelson 7, and Van Vogt 2.

November 29 was a rematch with the Asotin Panthers. Two weeks ago, Asotin hit five first-half threes on the way to a 27-8 half-time lead, Ledgerwood said.

"This time out our boys were ready defensively and held the Panthers without a three-point shot made and to 28 total points," Ledgerwood said. "All 10 guys stepped up to the challenge and were aggressive defensively. Our aggressiveness really disrupted what Asotin was trying to do with the ball. Our defense was definitely key to our 38-27 victory.

"We also were extremely patient and ran our offense well," he said. "This only helped our defense by controlling the tempo of the game and getting better shots than we had most of the season."

Braxton McKeirnan hit 12 points and Nolan Newberg was 3-6 from the three-point line and scored 11. Tyler Dixon had a big three-point shot and layup late in the fourth quarter to stop Asotin from making a run at us, Ledgerwood said.

Playing versus Asotin was R. McKeirnan 3, Dixon 5, Newberg 11, B. McKeirnan 12, Mullins 2, Vecchio, Nelson 4, Van Vogt, S. Wolf, and Zimmerman.

The Jayvees have been playing well, Ledgerwood said. They recently beat Tekoa-Rosalia 28-8. They downed Asotin 29-27, Colfax 29-22, Colton 28-14 and Tekoa-Rosalia 28-8. The Pomeroy C Squad fell to Colfax's C, 26-16.
