God’s hand in recent events
An act of unselfish commitment to the love of God and Country was viewed by millions at an unlikely venue, an NFL Monday Night Football game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. Number 3, Damar Hamlin, the Bills’ safety, experienced a heart attack after bouncing up after making a tackle. After walking a couple steps, Hamlin collapsed, which resulted in him being resuscitated by a medical team on the field. It was a shock to all who watched this healthy, strong, 24-year-old, fall to the ground, lifeless.
In my observation and opinion, this situation is similar to numerous other athlete collapses, particularly among males between the ages of 17 and 24, many or most who have taken the COVID shot. The injuries experienced by those young otherwise healthy men from the mandated serum is difficult to ignore.
But this is not being reported or questioned by the syndicated news outlets. Why not?
Initially all athletes were, and are required to take the quickly approved FDA COVID vaccine(?) in order to play their sport. From this, many young males (athletes and non-athletes alike) who were injected with this serum have succumbed to heart issues, particularly myocarditis.
But this is not why I am commenting on this situation: I see that a young man of 24 had a heart attack on the football field, then was resuscitated by the emergency medical personnel–the lowest-paid people on the field at the time–because his heart stopped.
Instead of making this something tragic, God used this young man’s situation as a way to start healing a divided nation and bring it together again, through the act of prayer. This situation somehow made it alright again to believe in something greater than oneself and have an expectation that good things will happen through prayer.
Not only did his collapse bring God to the center by inspiring an ESPN sports broadcaster to initiate prayer on live television, it also had that effect on the once- Woke teammates, opponents and staff which encircled Hamlin, and with the NFL spectators who also started praying to the Lord God.
In addition, this very act of selflessness created a ripple effect where over $7 million was raised in a couple of days to buy toys benefiting children in need.
The same thing can be seen during the recent contentious election of the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, allowing members of Congress an opportunity to question, argue, interject, reject, compromise, all to wrangle a final result. Some may have seen what was witnessed on the House floor for several days as unorganized, and fruitless. However, many others see it as the way democracy works at its best.
I thank God everyday we finally have an opportunity to have Senators and Representatives who will question, discuss, formant, and utilize our democratic way of concluding any issue.
All in all, God prevails and when push comes to shove, we all look to our Savior to bring the best results for our country and ourselves. Hope rises again.
