Pomeroy FFA scores well at Sub-Districts

POMEROY–The local FFA took first, second and third places in several categories at the Sub-District FFA Contest held here with teams from Clarkston, Waitsburg, Walla Walla, LaCrosse, and Dayton, on March 8. All teams qualify for the district competition in Asotin on March 23.

Pomeroy FFA's Caroline McKeirnan was first in the Creed Speaking activity, with Ismael Arteaga placed second at Sub-District South here recently.

Pomeroy FFA members placed first in Parliamentary procedure, first and second places in Creed recitation, first and second in Public Speaking, and first, second and third places in Conduct of Chapter Meetings.

In addition, Kendal Dixon was named the 2023 Washington FFA Proficiency Award winner in Diversified Agricultural Production-Entrepreneurship/Placement winner. Other winners were Cadence Morgan of Colfax, Wash., in Diversified Crop Production-Placement; Zachary Zender of Mt. Baker in Diversified Livestock Production-Entrepreneurship/Placement; Harley Hennigar of Colfax in Equine Science-Entrepreneurship; and Ryann Mitchell of Stanwood, Wash., in Equine Science-Placement.
