Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers held a "Conversations with Cathy" town hall event at Pomeroy High School that was well-attended by local residents and Pomeroy School's students who focused on protecting Lower Snake River dams, social media impacts on mental health, fentanyl, and other subjects of concern.

POMEROY–Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, WA-05, hosted three town hall events in Colfax, Clarkston, and Pomeroy on March 13. The congresswoman heard from eastern Washington farmers, ranchers and other constituents.

McMorris Rodgers finished the day with a "Conversations with Cathy" town hall event at Pomeroy High School. The event was well-attended by many constituents, including many students who brought attention to topics such as protecting Lower Snake River dams, the impact social media is having on mental health, the need to stop the flow of fentanyl, and other issues.

McMorris Rodgers began the day in Colfax where she hosted a unique town hall event for farmers and ranchers to hear their thoughts and concerns regarding the upcoming Farm Bill. This is the piece of legislation Congress works on every five years to reauthorize critical programs that support agriculture in eastern Washington and across the country. At the event, attendees shared their perspective on issues like crop insurance, expanding market access, protecting the Columbia River System, prioritizing trade agreements that benefit America and the American farmer, and more.

Following the town hall in Colfax, McMorris Rodgers headed to Clarkston for a "Conversations with Cathy" town hall at Clarkston High School. She was joined by members of the community, as well as many of the school's seniors. At the event, both community members and students shared concerns and asked questions about a variety of topics, including: the dangers of fentanyl, the negative impacts of social media, the need to balance the federal budget, strengthening Medicare and Social Security, securing the southern border, and other subjects.
