The Pomeroy Homeschoolers held their annual Pi Day Challenge on March 14, also known as 3.14, the first three digits of Pi. Students gather to eat pie and compete to see who has memorized the most digits of the irrational number Pi. This year's first place winner was Oscar Dispenza memorizing a phenomenal 432 digits. Josephine Watson placed second with 67 digits memorized and Allen Dispenza placed third reciting 22 digits. The top three competitors earned Pi-rate t-shirts.

The contest began last year to create excitement for mathematics and coincides with Pi Day on March 14.

All the participants won STEM stickers for their efforts. This year's participants range in age from 3 to 16 years old.
