Pirate Boys' Basketball awards given at ceremony

POMEROY–The School District here held the awards ceremony for the Pirate boys' basketball team at the Pomeroy Jr/Sr High School elevated seating on March 20.

Assistant coach Ryan Wolf presented statistics for junior varsity players Robbie Van Vogt, Braxton McKeirnan, Grayson Slaybaugh, and Reggie Ott Jr.

Head coach Brian Wolf gave the Coach's Award to Jayden Slusser for effort and hard work that he has given to the team, as well as "being the ultimate team kid," Coach Wolf said. The Most Improved award, the closest contested, went to Colby Ledgerwood. The Hustle award went to Trace Roberts, whose stats for the season include nine charges and 170 rebounds. Defensive Player of the Year was awarded to Brodie Magill for his ability to shut down and disrupt offenses. Oliver Severs received the Rebounding award for his 226 rebounds, averaging over 9 rebounds per game, as well as an All-League First Team award. Trevin Kimble received a four-year varsity pin, an All-League First Team award, and the Profile award for his 450 accumulated stat points.

Captains of the 2022–23 team were Trevin Kimble and Brodie Magill; and Owen Wolf and Tyler Dixon were managers.
