April 13, 2023

POMEROY––Liberty Christian came to town and swept the Lady Pirates 20-1 and 22-0 on March 30. Pomeroy is 0-4 in league, 0-11 overall.

They faced Colton last Monday and then break for a spell, next facing DeSales on April 21.

"The Pirates are improving each game," said Head Coach Lexi Beale. "They are battling on offense and getting better with defense."

In the hitting column against Liberty Christian were Taylor Gilbert, Hannah Bagby, Kendyll Potoshnick and Maria Altube.

Kaylee Schmidt scored in the first inning to make it 3-1 Liberty, but the Lady Pats piled on six runs in the second, four in the third and capped the game with seven more runs in the fourth for the mercy-rule, four-inning 20-1 game. They pounded 25 hits to Pomeroy's five.

Hannah Bagby hit a double.

In the nightcap, Liberty's defense held Pomeroy to one hit while chalking up 17 hits as they poured 19 runs across home plate in the third inning for the 22-0 final.
