POMEROY-The City Council appointed a temporary councilman, approved two resolutions, and held a public hearing, according to the minutes of their June 6 meeting.
John Hirsch has been appointed temporary councilman to fill the position left by Susie Bowles’ resignation. Hirsch will serve in council position five until the next election. Councilman Mike Cassetto thanked Bowles for her service on the council and stated that her work was appreciated.
The council held a public hearing on a proposed surplus and sale of decommissioned reservoir property at the north end of 17th Street. The hearing received no public comment. Resolution 23-03, approving the sale of the property, was passed.
Also passed was Resolution 23-04, a rental agreement between the City of Pomeroy and the Pomeroy Swim Team. The Swim Team will rent the pool for practices and meets. The City will provide lifeguards for Swim Team events and the rental fee will cover the cost. In past years, the team had hired their own lifeguards and used the pool at no charge.
