The Friends of the Denny Ashby Library are accepting donations of books in good condition (hardcover/paperback) for their annual Book Sale at the Garfield County Fair in September. Donations may be brought to the Denny Ashby Library. (Please, no encyclopedia sets, textbooks, or magazines.) For more information, contact the Denny Ashby Library at 509-843-3710.

The Friends of the Denny Ashby Library support the library in many ways and welcome new members. Their fundraising efforts, the biggest of which is the Book Sale, contribute to the summer reading programs.

They also sponsor a variety of free programs for Garfield County residents throughout the year. Recent ones have included a Master Gardener's presentation, a lecture on edible mushrooms in the Blue Mts., local authors, and speakers from Humanities Washington.

The Friends of the Library are sponsoring a movie night at the Seeley Theater on July 16 at 6 p.m. If you have never seen The Wizard of Oz on the big screen before, this is your chance!
