The Alvin Landkammer Scholarship Fund held their annual fireworks show at the Fairgrounds July 4 and 5. Many people enjoyed the two-day celebration of our country's Independence with fireworks, food and comradery.

POMEROY–Fourth of July events here included an indoor potluck picnic at the Pataha Flour Mill on July 4 and the annual Alvin Landkammer Scholarship Fund firework show at the Garfield County Fairgrounds on July 5.

The Pataha Flour Mill's potluck picnic was very well attended. The program featured patriotic songs, pledges of allegiance to the American flag, the Christian flag, and the Bible, and shared stories of patriotism and the meaning of freedom. Attendees filled nearly every seat in the Mill's downstairs dining hall.

The firework show began at dusk, about 9:20 p.m. and lasted a bit after 11. The show included fountains and aerials.
