Class of 1973 celebrates a golden jubilee

DAYTON–The Class of 1973 met for their fiftieth-class reunion at the Golf Course during Alumni weekend here July 14-15.

A good portion of the class gathered for their fiftieth year as Dayton High School graduates. Some 10 members had since passed on and of those who attended welcomed the chance to reconnect. A 1973 class member Jim Kenyon reviewed the weekend in this way...

"The Class of 1973 gathered Alumni Weekend for a fun filled time of float decorating, reminiscing, and sharing the adventures of the last 50 years for their golden jubilee reunion.

"Friday afternoon many classmates met at Gene Warren's farm shop to decorate their parade float with the theme, "Still Floating". Several classmates attending had last met 20 years or more previously. Kevin Casseday had traveled the furthest from Florida along with his wife, Laurie. We noted the passing of 10 class members, too many gone too soon.

"The next morning, we gathered for the alumni parade, our float winning second prize. Saturday night we met at the Touchet Valley Golf Course Club for dinner, more reminiscing, sharing photos and memories of high school adventures and times up to now.

"Our class had 52 official graduates, with several more who were part of the class and remain so to this day."
