National Night Out Aug. 1

DAYTON–The Columbia County Sheriff's Department will hold the 16th Annual National Night Out in the City Park on Tuesday, August 1 at 5-8 p.m. Free food and drinks will be available.

The community is invited to join the personnel of the Columbia County Sheriff's Office–Sheriff Joe Helm and available Deputies, at the City Park for National Night Out August 1. This event is also designed to help strengthen the community-law enforcement partnership. National Night goers can share in free hotdogs, chips, and refreshments, all courtesy of Banner Bank, Bank of Idaho, and Columbia County Public Transportation.

This year, at least 25 groups, organizations and agencies will present exhibits to inform and educate observers of the many resources available to them. Some booths will hold drawings throughout the evening.

In addition, the community can check out the DSHS services truck, get a photo taken by Professional DJ and Photo booth services, watch as Life Flight Network Helicopter flies in for tours, look through the Columbia County Sheriff's Office Patrol Boat as well as the Search and Rescue Humvee, Command Trailer, and new Side by Side vehicles.

There will also be several booths representing Aging and Long-Term Care, Banner Bank, Bank of Idaho, Blue Mountain Counseling, Columbia County Prosecutor's Office, Coalition for Youth and Family, Columbia County Hospital District, Columbia County Public Health, Columbia County Transportation, Columbia REA, CCSO Boating Program, Dayton Mercantile, Dayton School District, Developmental Disabilities Walla Walla Valley Disability Network, Valley Disability Services, Columbia County Emergency Management, Columbia County Fire District No. 3, Dayton Kiwanis, Life Flight Network, Dayton Lions Club, Blue Mountain Search and Rescue, US Forest Service, Walla Walla DJ, YWCA Domestic Violence, YWCA Run Factory, Department of Social and Health Services, and more.

. There will be plenty do see and do including visiting with friends, neighbors, and visitors, so come early, bring a lawn chair; and be a friend to your furry family members and leave them safely at home.
