Interested in sponsoring an art show?

POMEROY––The Blue Mountain Artisan Guild's artist receptions enjoy the support of a local sponsor, and that can be either a business or an individual, says Linda McKeirnan, vice president of the BMAG.

"There is no real requirement other than expressing that they would love to sponsor a show," she added.

Usually, the sponsor provides a monetary prize or gift of their choosing to honor the featured adult and youth artists. Many also give something to an individual they enjoy what has been displayed. "As far as the monetary end of it," McKeirnan said, "there has been a wide range of $5.00 to $100.00 in money, gift certificates and gift items. It all depends on how many people they wish to show they liked their work."

Sponsors also are given the opportunity, prior to an artist's reception, to choose which piece or pieces in the show they enjoy or are impressed with, McKeirnan said. Some have also given ribbons for first, second or third.

"We never wish anyone to feel they have to pay out a lot for this" she said. "It truly is more about being recognized for what the sponsor feels they like. We greatly appreciate any sponsor for the help to do this and they get their name in the paper!"

People interested in being a reception sponsor may contact Mary Flerchinger 509-843-1350 or McKeirnan 509-843-1633.
