Health District grant will pay for solid waste investigations

POMEROY-The Garfield County Public Health District board passed a resolution and discussed investments at their meeting on August 21.

Resolution 2023-12 accepts a Solid Waste Investigation grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology, in the amount of $7,500 over the course of two years. The grant will allow the Health District to reimburse City of Pomeroy or Garfield County employees for their time spent in investigating solid waste incidents. The grant does not include funds for clean-up.

The District board discussed steps necessary to take in order to invest money. An investment policy will be on the agenda for their next meeting on September 18.
