Pirate signal caller Jett Slusser (99) keeps his eye on the ball on the way to Pomeroy's 46-6 win over the Touchet Redhawks. Slusser rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns, including one at the end of this play, and connected six of eight for 180 passing yards and four touchdowns.

TOUCHET–The Redhawks didn't have much of an answer for the Pomeroy Pirates, who counted four first-quarter touchdowns and another four in the second quarter to speed through the second half for a S.E. 1B win by 46-6. Pomeroy is 4-1 overall, 3-1 in conference.

The Pirate defense held Touchet to four first downs and a total offense of 87 yards while amassing 494 yards of offense, 314 on the ground, 180 via the airwaves.

Next up for the Pirates are the Dayton Bulldogs this Friday at Lybecker Field.

The Pirates moved the ball steadily, setting up Jett Slusser's one-yard touchdown run for the opening six points. Ollie Severs's 55-yard pass reception was Pomeroy's second touchdown and Boone Schmidt caught the conversion for a 14-0 lead.

Slusser rushed 11 yards for another touchdown and before the first quarter ended he found Schmidt with an 11-yard pass for six, score 26-0.

Touchet was stymied by the Pirate defense and Slusser opened the second quarter with a touchdown from five yards out.

Slusser and the Pirates were confident in their play and moved the ball into the Red Zone for Braxton McKeirnan to catch a three-yard pass from Slusser for a 34-0 lead. McKeirnan punctuated that with a one-yard run for six on the Pirates' next possession.

Here the Redhawks broke Haden Kincaid loose for a 54-yard run to paydirt and Touchet's only points on the scoreboard.

With the continuous clock going, Pirate scoring finished with a 38-yard pass to Schmidt and the 46-6 final. There was no scoring in the second half.
