CTA surplus van offered to runner-up after winning auction bidder backs out

October 26, 2023

POMEROY-The Garfield County Transportation Authority (CTA) discussed a van listed as surplus last month, as well as proceeding plans for a proposed building at their meeting on October 23.

The 2015 Ford Transit van E507 that was listed for auction after September’s CTA meeting was bid upon, but the winning bidder backed out after the auction was closed. The van will be offered to the runner-up bid at $16,500, only $100 less than the winning bid.

The designing for the joint CTA and Garfield County Public Works building has been completed. The design was created by RPW Engineering. Obtaining a permit for building is the next step of the process. Applications for grant funding are still in the future, so the project will be on hold for now.
