WALLA WALLA–Blue Mountain Action Council (BMAC) announces the opening of a new office for veteran services at 312 N. Second Avenue in Walla Walla.

BMAC has implemented this region’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families grant, which provides housing support to homeless veterans and their families, for many years and is expanding its staff to provide additional support and outreach services to area veterans.

“We owe our veterans a great debt for their service to our nation, so we are very proud to be expanding our veteran services team under the leadership of SSVF Director Gina Sullivan and with the support of many community partners. We encourage any veteran experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their housing to contact us for help,” said BMAC CEO Danielle Garbe Reser.

The new BMAC SSVF Office at 312 N. Second Avenue is now open for walk-ins or appointments Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and by calling 509-529-4980. The SSVF team serves veterans in Walla Walla, Columbia, and Garfield Counties in Washington State and Morrow, Umatilla, Union, and Wallowa Counties in Oregon. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs funds the SSVF program, which is a short-term Rapid Rehousing and Homeless Prevention program that is free to clients who qualify.
