Kiona-Benton's Carlos Alvarez was Pirate wrester Curtis Winona's first opponent at the Battle of the Blues Tournament last weekend. Winona advanced to the championship game, finishing second in a 10-7 decision to College Place's Parker Hodgen.
COLLEGE PLACE–Curtis Winona fought hard in a "back-and-forth" championship round that finished with a 10-7 decision for Winona's opponent and a second-place finish at the Battle of the Blues tournament here last weekend.
Next up for the Pirate wrestling team is the second league meet at Reardan today, January 18. Kittitas Invitational will be Saturday.
