POMEROY––Walking off the bus last Tuesday with fifteen wrestlers was a tremendous feeling. This group works hard and is truly fun to coach. If this continues, Pomeroy wrestling is going to be super exciting. Our team wrestled at Jenifer Junior High school last Tuesday against host Jenifer, Pullman, Asotin, Grangeville, and Dayton.

James Blachly was a beast on the mat, pinning both opponents in mere seconds. Jess Winona, James Blachly, Jackson Hutchins, Dylan Taylor, Tyler Taylor, and Corbin Nelson all went undefeated on the night. Corbin Nelson was down 11-4 when he reversed his opponent and pinned him with two seconds left in the round. It is those matches that are great for young athletes to experience the 'never give up' mentality. On the night, we had many great matches where they fought each and every round and we won several close matches. It was a fantastic first outing for these young wrestlers. Our next outing will be in Orofino wrestling Sacajawea, Clearwater Valley, and Grangeville.
