Cashup Davis, early Whitman County pioneer and entrepreneur
POMEROY–The Friends of Denny Ashby Library and Denny Ashby Library offer a free community presentation, "Cashup Davis: The Inspiring Life of a Secret Mentor," by co-author Jeff Burnside at the Garfield County Senior Center, 695 Main St., on Wednesday, February 28 at 7 p.m.
Burnside will speak on the book he and Gordon Davis, cowrote, Cashup Davis: The Inspiring Life of a Secret Mentor. Gordon Davis is the great grandson of Cashup Davis who along with Seattle area journalist Jeff Burnside, teamed up to write this interesting story of his grandfather's life and how he came to build a hotel at the top of Steptoe Butte.
