Lady Pirates hit hard by Liberty

SPANGLE––The Lady Pirates battled the Liberty Lady Lancers, who scored in dribs and drabs on their way to an 11-1 win over Pomeroy here March 16. The Lady Buccaneers were hammered 30-8 in the nightcap.

The team's record is 0-4 as they look to a home game against Prairie on Wednesday of this week and a home double bill against Tekoa-Rosalia, first pitch at 11 a.m.

"In the first game," said Head Coach Lexi Beale. "The fielding was great! The girls worked hard each inning to keep the Lancers at bay."

Caroline Mckeirnan hit a double in the game.

In the second contest, the Lady Lancers were too prolific at the plate and mercy-ruled the Pirates by the fourth inning, 30-8 on 20 hits, 19 RBIs and 13 walks.

Highlights of the game was a triple by Izzy Field and a double by Kendyll Potoschnick.

"The Pirates battled hard and had a great attitude," Beale commented.
