Ott in top 10 golfing

CLARKSTON–Pirate golfer Reggie Ott Jr. finished in the top 10 of a field of almost 70 golfers here March 26.

Ott carded an 88 in the match at Quail Ridge Golf Course that included 13 teams and 67 golfers, said Head Coach Al Damron.

"A mix of fair and nasty weather, including rain, hail and a lot of wind made play very difficult at times," Damron said, "but the kids hung in there and quite well considering."

Grayson Slaybaugh finished six strokes higher at 94, and Tyler Dixon came in at 121.

On the girls' side, Kiersten Bartels shot 114, and Elena Morfin carded a 127.

Next up for the team will be the Nels Nelson Invitational at Wildhorse Golf Club in Pendleton, Ore., on April 8.
