POMEROY––The Pirates continued their winning ways with a double header sweep of Gar-Pal last weekend and now hold an 11-2 season record. The Bucs lead the SE1B with 8-0 in league with Dayton in second at 5-0, SJEL in third at 1-4, and meet Dayton for this Saturday in Dayton.

The Pirates beat the Vikings 4-1 and 14-0, and on April 9 downed Colton 17-1.

Gar-Pal gave the Pirates a close game here on Saturday, until Peyton Cannon blasted a two-out, bases-loaded triple in the sixth to tip the balance. In the second game, batters "hit the gaps and generated runs," said Head Coach Kyler Lovgren.

"Kyzer Herres made some great plays at second base and Vinny Vecchio continued to produce hits as he as all season keeping his batting average north of .500," Lovgren said. "Trace Roberts struck out nine of the 13 batters he faced."
