POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) opened bleacher bids, decided to fund the finishing of the Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum parking lot project, and passed a modification to resolution 2024-86 at their meeting on May 6.
The commissioners opened bids for the grandstand bleachers at the Garfield County Fairgrounds. The apparent low bidder was BSN Sports at $49,066.68, before tax. With tax, the total comes up to just over $53,000. Other bidders were All Play Systems and Nor-Pac Seating. The bids will be reviewed for completion before the contract is awarded.
The paving project at the EWAM parking lot is nearly complete. The total bill as of the May 6 meeting is $87,867, out of the $90,000 grant that has funded the project. The cost for finishing the project is expected to run approximately $7,000 over the grant funds, and the commissioners decided to fund the extra costs in a split between the county and EWAM. Pending EWAM board's approval, the county will pay $3,500 and the museum the other $3,500.
Additional Aging and Long Term Care funding has been added to the senior nutrition program managed by Garfield County Aging and Long Term Care. The BOCC modified resolution 2024-86 to account for the $574 extra dollars that were supplied.
The commissioners also discussed a public hearing regarding the Appaloosa Solar Project that will be held at the end of June. Exact date, time, and location for the hearing are yet to be determined.
