Revitalized PTO brings kids and families together at PSD

May 9, 2024

POMEROY-Pomeroy's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has been revitalized in the past year and a half. In November of 2022 a group of Pomeroy parents brought the long-inactive PTO back with a new mission statement and new bylaws.

The organization has assisted with student activities and teacher appreciation, including Pig Out on Books, a summer reading log with prizes, snacks for teachers during state testing, and bringing the Grinch to the Christmas concert. They also brought back the book fair and ensured every kid in the district took home books.

"The PTO has created opportunities for kids and families to come together at the school," stated Erica Stallcop, PTO president.

The PTO has run several fundraisers, including Cow Pie bingo at the 2023 Garfield County Fair which raised over $5,000 and selling 675 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts.
