Elementary Students Sing in the Season

POMEROY–A capacity crowd turned out to hear students in grades preschool through sixth grade present their annual Christmas concert held in the high school cafetorium on Wednesday evening, December 11. The program was divided into two segments, preschool through second grade and third through sixth grade, with piano accompaniment provided by Dan Lewis.

Songs in the first half included "Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star" and "Reindeer Pokey" sung by forty-seven preschoolers; "Must Have Been Old Santa Claus" and "What Christmas Means to Me", by the kindergarten; "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and "Christmas Round" presented by the first grade; the combination first and second grade doing "Up on the Housetop" and a non-traditional version of "Joy to the World"; and the second-graders having fun with "Christmastime is Here" and "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch."

Following an intermission the third grade led with "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" and "I Need a Christmas Vacation"; the fourth-graders singing "When Christmas Comes to Town" and "Warm and Fuzzy"; the fifth grade contrasting "Let It Be Christmas" with "Run, Run Rodolph"; and the sixth grade completing the event with "I'm Getting' Nuttin' for Christmas" and "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree".
