First Camas Prairie shoot successful

POMEROY–The first of the Camas Prairie 10-week shoot for the Pomeroy Gun Club launched the weekend of December 9–10. Using the new stipulations under the COVID–19 protocols, the start of the season was fairly successful.

The Junior shooters started their 2021 season on Saturday morning with Braxton McKeirnan leading the 12-year-old and under group with an 18 X 25 in singles and a 16 in Handicap. Byron Collier had a 16 in Singles and Levi Bowen had a 16 in Handicap.

In the Sub Junior Division Mason Garcia and Gunner Magill paced the group with 19s in Singles and Nick Bryson posted 18. In Handicap Ollie Severs posted and excellent 22 while Garcia and Colby Ledgerwood posted 20s.

Junior shooters were led by the 23 in singles recorded by Junior Magill, Colton Slaybaugh and Troy Steele had a pair of 21s. Magill had a 23 in HC and Tyson Kimble posted a 20.

Adult Shooters on Sunday were paced by the perfect 25s of Holly Ledgerwood and Wayne Tetrick in singles. Tracy Hanger, Mitch Ruchert, Sean Beale, Jeff Hannas, Terry John, and Brian Bingman all flirted with perfection but missed one target for 24s. Tristen Streby led Adult shooters in Handicap with a 23, while Terry John, Luke Ledgerwood and Travis Ledgerwood had 22s.


Buck Geiger posted the best score in Continentals with a 21, Steve Brown, Larry Bunch, Luke Ledgerwood, Tracy Hanger, Mitch McGreevy, and Craig Heitstuman all had 19s.

Geiger posted the High score in Doubles with a 43X50 and Larry Bunch had a 41.
