February 3, 2022

POMEROY–The fourth Camas Prairie Telephonic 10-week shoot was a test for local shooters at the Pataha Range. A stiff, cold, easterly wind hampered target flight for everyone and it was reflected in poor scores compared to the week before. Even though conditions were challenging, Steve Brown, Larry Bunch, Clark Capwell, Buck Geiger, Tracy Hanger and Jim Adams score well.

In Continentals, Steve Brown, Larry Bunch, Clark Capwell and Buck Geiger had the top scores of 23. Tracy Hanger and Jim Adams had the top scores of 46 X 50 in Doubles. Those scores were the top scores of the year in that event.

For the 12-year-old and under youth team Carter Barron was the top singles shooter with a score of 19 of 25, and he duplicated that score in Handicap with another 19 to lead that event also.

Sub Juniors were led by the 17s recorded by Braxton McKeirnan, Levi Bowen and Cayle Mullins in the 16-yard event. McKeirnan was the top shooter in Handicap with a 20 and Mullins posted an 18.

Juniors were led by the 23 of Nick Hastings in singles and the 19s in Handicap by Hastings and Caleb Barron.

Wayne Tetrick, Brian Bingman and Buck Geiger posted 24s for the Adult Shooters in the 16-yard event on Sunday, while Clark Capwell, Holly Ledgerwood, Lee Blachly and Grandson Mason Blachly posted 23s. In Handicap Buck Geiger had the top score of 24. Lee Blachly, Wayne Tetrick, and Travis Ledgerwood had scores of 23.

After week three, the Youth shooters were tied for 7th place in the 24 Club field and the adult shooters moved up to 13th place overall in the Camas Prairie competition.

Week five shooting, the halfway mark, will be at the local range this coming Saturday and Sunday.
