POMEROY–The Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum (EWAM) received over $7,000 in donations, were presented with a $3,000 grant from the Harold and Helen Shepherd Foundation, and set the Spring Farming Days.

The EWAM received $1,520 from the Valley Giving Guide, $4,800 in a donation from Farm Credit Services of Lewiston, $3,500 in memorials for the year 2021; $500 for end of the year donations, and an undisclosed amount from seven other individuals.

In addition, The Harold and Helen Shepherd Foundation presented the EWAM with a generous grant for the restoration of two tractors for $3,000.

The Spring Farming Days activities are scheduled for April 2–3. The committee is seeking food vendors for the lunch on Saturday and Sunday.

In other business, Nick Hastings brought a set of two different sizes of branding iron of the same kind (rafter over OJ) donated by his father Mike Hastings. Roy Wold has completed one of the “hit-and-miss” engines and is now on a moveable frame. The newsletter is near completion and 475 will be ordered for printed. A new form is being designed for items on loan at the museum. In addition, any item sold from the museum should be taxed. The group is working with the Commissioners to assemble the correct amount of fire extinguishers; and the state auditors have suggested a few items that will keep the EWAM on track. And finally, membership dues deadline is April 1, 2022.
