POMEROY–The Pomeroy Gun Club members had a busy week nine of the Camas Prairie Trapshooting competition and seven members traveled to Orofino Gun Club for their registered shoot on Saturday March 4. Wayne Tetrick dominated over the 46 shooters that attended the shoot by shooting a top score of 98X100 to win B Class singles and by winning the Handicap event with a 93. Tetrick's 98 would have won A class also as it was the top score of the day.

Holly Ledgerwood was the Lady Champion in Orofino with a score of 93 in singles. Jim Adams had a 95, Larry Bunch shot a 91 and Gunner Magill posted an 86. Brodie Magill put up a nice 87 in Handicap.

In the ten-week competition at Pomeroy Gun Club, the 12-year-old and under top score in the 16-yard event was shot by Carter Barron with a 21. Rory McKeirnan had a score of 20. In Handicap for the youngest shooters Rowdy Cole shot a 21 and Barron had a 20.

In Sub Junior shooting Gunner Magill posted a 23 and Braxton McKeirnan had a 20 in the 16-yard competition. McKeirnan had a 22 in Handicap and Gunner shot a 20.

In the Junior Competition, Nick Hasting put up a score of 23 and Brady Bott and Ollie Severs had scores of 22. Severs and Brodie Magill had a pair of 22s in Junior Handicap to lead the field.

In Sunday's Adult shooting Jim Adams and Larry Bunch paced the 16-yard shooters with a pair of perfect 25s. Missing just one Target with scores of 24 were Brian Bingman, Buck Geiger, Ray Endicott, and Steve Brown.

Adult Handicap was a bit of a struggle for most shooters with a very bad broken snow floor back ground. Jim Adams, Matt Fitzgerald, and Richard Madden had the best scores of 22.

In Continental shooting Jim Adams had his second perfect 25 of the day to lead the field and Richard Madden and Kenny Bott posted scores of 24. Last week a Clerical error by the Gun Club omitted a perfect 25 by Brian Bingman and a near perfect 24 by Clark Capwell in Week eight's Continental Competition news article.

Buck Geiger paced the Doubles competition in Week nine with a score of 46, Jim Adams and Tracy Hanger posted scores of 43.

After nine weeks, the Pomeroy juniors fell to third place in the 24-club race and the senior club dropped another spot to the eleventh spot. Hermiston, Ore., Gun Club leads the juniors and Weiser, Idaho is leading the senior competition.

Next weekend, March 11 and 12, will be the final week of the 10-week competition.
