POMEROY–A few local Gun Club members brought home some trophies from the Spring Shoot at Culdesac, Idaho over last weekend.
Seven members of Pomeroy Gun Club attended the Spring shoot at Culdesac, Idaho Gun Club this past weekend May 6 and 7. They brought home some Trophy Hardware from the shoot. There were 40 to 50 total shooters who participated in the event.
Saturday featured a Doubles Marathon of 300 Targets and Jim Adams, Larry Bunch and Buck Geiger participated in that event. Adams broke 269 of the 300 targets, Bunch had a score of 262 and Geiger broke 250. None of those scores resulted in a trophy winner. Fifty singles targets were also offered and Bunch had one of two perfect scores of 50 in that event. He later lost a shoot off to Derek Schafer of Cottonwood 25-23 for the B Class Trophy. Brian Bingman shot a 48 and Adams and Geiger had scores of 44.
The last event on Saturday was 50 Handicap Targets and Bingman won a three-way shoot off for Champion in that event after a score of 46. Geiger had a 45 and Bunch shot a 43.
There were two events on Sunday; 100 singles, and 100 Handicap targets. Brian Bingman topped the local shooters with a 98 in that event and Holly Ledgerwood won the Lady trophy with a score of 96. Bingman's effort garnered the "C" Class trophy. Jim Adams put up a score of 95, and Bingman finished a great weekend with a second Handicap win with a score of 92.
The Washington State shoot at the Walla Walla Gun Club on May 16–20, is the next event on most shooters schedule, where 1100 targets will be offered at that shoot.
