POMEROY–Week two temperatures in the High 30s seemed like a heat wave to the Pomeroy Gun Club members after the subzero temperatures in week one of the Camas Prairie ten-week competition. With the improved weather conditions, scores also were better for the adults.

Youth shooters started the weekend on Saturday with a little tougher condition than what the adults faced on Sunday.

In the 12-year-old and under division Rowdy Cole was the top 16-yd. shooter with a score of 20X25 and Carter Barron was one target behind with a 19. In 12 and under Handicap, Barron had a score of 17 and Cole managed a 15 to lead that division.

In Sub Junior shooting, Byron Collier had the top 16-yd. Score missing only three targets for a score of 22. Luke Collier posted a score of 20. In Sub Junior Handicap, Byron bested his 16-yd. score by putting up a 23 to lead the division.

In Junior shooting, Ollie Severs had the top score of 23 in the 16 yd. competition. Severs also had the top Handicap score of 24 and Mason Garcia posted a 22.

On Sunday, the adult shooters got off to a good start with Mason Blachly breaking the first perfect 25 of the season in the 16-yd. event in an early squad. Wayne Tetrick joined him with a 25 later in the day. Tetrick also had a 25 in week one in the Handicap event. Shooters missing just one Target for scores of 24 included Jim Adams, Clarke Capwell, Buck Geiger, and Brodie Magill. Shooting scores of 23 were Beau Blachly and Steve Brown.

In the Handicap event Mitch Ruchert and Riley Bott had the top scores of 23. Clark Capwell had the top score in Continentals with a 24, Brian Bingman posted a 23, and the trio of Buck Geiger, Terry John, and Wayne Tetrick had scores of 22. Tracy Hanger beat all the boys in Doubles with a score of 42X50 in tough conditions.

After week two, the Junior Club is in 5th place of the 25 member clubs, and the Adults are in the middle of the Pack in 13th place.

Shooting resumes this coming weekend on Saturday for Youth Shooters and Sunday once again for adults.
