POMEROY–Pomeroy Gun Club enjoyed beautiful weather compared to the first two week of the Camas Prairie Trapshooting competition, but the improved conditions were not reflected in a lot of good scores in week three.
On Saturday the Youth shooters had much warmer conditions but had a steady downpour of rain to contend with. Rowdy Cole was the top shooter in the 16-yard event for the 12-year-old and younger shooters with a score of 21X25. Cole broke one target less in the Handicap event to lead the youngest shooters in that event.
In the Sub Junior competition Hagen Taylor was the top 16-yard. shooter with a score of 21 and Luke Collier was close behind with a 20. Collier and Sawyer Brenner were the top Handicap Shooters with scores of 20.
In the Junior Classification Isaac Coon, Gunner Magill, and Ollie Severs all posted scores of 21 in the 16-yard. competition and Mason Garcia had a score of 20. Magill had a 23 in Handicap and Severs posted a 21.
Sunday morning started out with rain for the Adults but turned into a very nice day with Temperatures in the High 50s. Beau Blachly managed the only perfect 25 on the day from the 16-yard line while Jim Adams, Holly Ledgerwood, Jeff Hannas, and Lee Koller missed one target each for scores of 24.
In Sunday's Handicap, Jim Adams had the top score with his second 24 of the Day. Continentals were paced by the 24's posted by Riley Bott and Buck Geiger. Jim Adams, Travis Ledgerwood, Tracy Hanger, Wayne Tetrick and Larry Bunch all posted scores of 23. In Doubles Travis Ledgerwood had the top score of 46X50 and was followed closely by Steve Brown with a career best 45. Buck Geiger and Jim Adams had 44's.
After three weeks of competition the Junior Club is in 6th place in the 25 Club field and the Pomeroy Adults moved up a couple of spots to 11th place. Shooting will resume with Week 4 this coming weekend at the Pataha Range.
