POMEROY–The fifth week of the 10-week Camas Prairie Competition started out well for Pomeroy Gun Club members as the first squad on Sunday enjoyed calm winds and nice conditions. Brian Bingman took advantage of the opportunity and broke a perfect 25 and Sean Beale only missed one for an early score of 24. After the squad was done, blustery weather with snow squalls blew in and made the day much more difficult for other shooters.

The youth shooters had fair conditions on Saturday, but attendance was down as there were many other activities going on in our area. In the 16-yard 12-year-old and under classification Shaun Bingman had the top score of the day with a 16 and Carter Barron managed a 14. Bingman improved some in Handicap and had the top score of 18.

In the Sub Junior competition Byron Collier and Josephine Watson both posted good scores of 21X25 to lead that division in the 16-yard event. Luke Collier posted a 20. In Handicap Byron Collier only missed one for a good score of 24. Luke Collier had a score of 21.

In Junior competition Mason Garcia paced the older youth with a score of 22 and Isaac Coon and Gunner Magill put up scores of 21 in the 16-yard. event. Ollie Severs posted a 22 in Handicap and Colby Ledgerwood was runner-up with a score of 20.

In the Sunday shoot, Brian Bingman's lone 25 was the top score for adult shooters while Jim Adams, Sean Beale, Ray Endicott, Buck Geiger, Tracy Hanger and Wayne Tetrick all bobbled once for scores of 24 in pretty tough conditions.

In Adult Handicap Mason Blachly had the top score of 23 and Tracy Hanger and Mike Hastings posted scores of 22.

Continentals were led by Ben Feider and Travis Ledgerwood's scores of 24. Jim Adams and Clark Capwell posted 23s.

Buck Geiger's 43X50 in Doubles was the top score of the Day and Travis Ledgerwood and Jim Adams put up scores of 42.

The Club has reached the halfway point of the competition week and six will get them on the downhill side this coming weekend.
