POMEROY–Once again luck was not on the side of Pomeroy Gun Club members during Week 9 of the Camas Prairie Competition. A stiff breeze plagued shooters once again this past weekend, on both days.

Juniors shooters faced the stiffer breeze on Saturday and scores were down a bit. In the youngest shooters Handicap, Rowdy put up another 21 for the top score in that event.

Jim Adams posted the only perfect 25 of the day while Clark Capwell, Ray Endicott, Ben Feider, Tracy Hanger, Lee Koller, Travis Ledgerwood and Wayne Tetrick all missed one Target for scores of 24 in the 16-yard. shooting. Steve and Holly Ledgerwood, Jim Adams, Brodie Magill and Wayne Slaybaugh represented the local Club at a registered shoot at Orofino-Pierce Gun Club this last Saturday. Holly and Jim Adams posted scores of 96X100 in the 16-yard event which put them near the top of their categories. Money prizes were awarded rather than trophies at the shoot.

After nine weeks the Junior Club slipped into a sixth-place tie with Orofino Pierce Gun Club and the Senior Club remains in twelfth place in the 24 Club field.

Next Sunday is the tenth and last week of the competition at the local Club. The following week March 21–24, is the Camas Prairie Handicap at the Walla Walla Gun Club where shooters from all the Camas member clubs will compete against each other.

The next weekend is Easter, March 31. Our traditional barbeque and pot luck will follow two weeks after the Camas Prairie on Sunday April 7 starting at 9 a.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided, so bring your favorite side dish for a fun day of shooting and dining. The Adults will shoot 50 singles targets with prizes for class winners, and the kids will have fun and games events. The Club's annual meeting and election of Officers will be held the same day.
